The circuit under the perspex cover is the HV SPDT switch which selects between AC or DC output. The pole is motor driven. As you can see, the creepage distance is HUGE. This is to be expected, considering that the output voltage can go up to 5000VAC or 5000VDC. You can see slots in the PCB to lower the risk of flashover. The current sampler resistor is on this board. The screwdriver head is on one of the screws that must be released before the face of the unit may be removed. At the left, you can see some single turn pots. I have not yet identified their purpose.
