My Hipot was behaving funnily. Sometimes, it does no obey the START button. At other times, it trips before reaching the setpoint current. Generally, the schematics for Japanese test equipment are as rare as hens' teeth. We have to play be ear for this repair. The first, and most fomidable task is how to dismantle the unit. I figured that the front panel has to come off before any repairs can be carried out. Why? Looking at the organisation of the unit, I figured that the circuits are partitioned such that all power and HV subsystems are on the main base plate, while all the controls are located in the face where all the buttons and indicators are located.
