My good old HP 34401A had a deep scratch on the face. It is an earlier US made model that does not have the rubber bumper surround on the front and back panels. Then, some time back, I was able to acquire a later Malaysia made unit that I had hoped to repair. I gave up on the repair as SEVERAL ICs on the main board were running hot. An enquiry with Agilent SG revealed that the repair would be a flat charge of approx $900 Singapore dollars. I decided not to pursue that avenue, and instead use it as a donor unit. It seemed simple enough to exchange the front panels, seen here side by side before the exchange.
